Thanks a lot Francisco. It looks that there are a lot of commercial sophisticated leakage detection and management tools around and it would be very useful to be able to make a presentation of the state of the art on these. I am note sure if this would involve more than one speaker. We are open to suggestions and proposals.

According to my experience, methods like Sahara apply only to large trunk mains. In my opinion, there are two approaches, which turn out to be non-exclusive, but complementary. On the one hand, there might be some very critical trunk mains that you may want to have monitored continuously. In this case, sound-based, IA-supported technologies such as Synirix's are the best choice. On the other hand, if a trunk main is not so critical, you may perform periodical or event-based checks using technologies such as Sahara or Pure's Smartball.
